In January 2026 Daniel Shungu, UFAR DRC staff and the END Fund CEO joined a team that traveled into the field to collect samples of black flies and their eggs/larva to be tested for the presence of Onchocerciasis, which is also known as River Blindness. Samples collected will be evaluated and the results help inform future MDA plans.
