Neglected Tropical Diseases
Neglected Tropical Diseases are called “neglected” because they generally afflict the world's poor and historically have not received as much attention as other diseases. Children infected with an NTD often cannot attend school, and adults infected with an NTD often struggle to work, affecting earning potential. NTDs perpetuate a cycle of sickness, suffering, and poverty.
NTDs rob millions of men, women, and children of the opportunity to reach their full potential.
