Join the United Front Against Riverblindness and other NTDs (UFAR) for an evening in support of its work to defeat river blindness and other neglected tropical diseases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
UFAR has spent years working alongside partners to bring preventive medicines to millions of Congolese people. In 2022 alone, UFAR-supported programs reached 31.9 million people in 54,506 villages, with treatment coverage above the WHO-recommended threshold. Sixty-six health zones have stopped mass drug administration for lymphatic filariasis, freeing 14 million people from the fear of infection. This evening is a chance to celebrate that progress and help finish the work.
Featuring a Special Performance by Nkumu Katalay
Born in Kinshasa, Nkumu Katalay is an artist, orator, multi-instrumentalist and social activist whose work promotes humanity and highlights the contribution of Congolese culture to modern world history. He joins us alongside other African performers for an evening of music and celebration.
Fresh from the Field
In January 2026, UFAR founder Daniel Shungu, UFAR's DRC team and the END Fund CEO traveled into the field to collect black flies and larvae for river blindness testing. The results will help shape future treatment and elimination plans. Hear about the trip, and what comes next, in remarks from UFAR leadership.
